22 L.R., Single Shot, Made in Japan by Shinbisha Air Rifles, Model AR-10. Did You Know ? Between 1959 and 1973 Armalite manufactured this design and sold it under the name "AR-7 Explorer". In 1973 Charter Arms took over production, keeping the AR-7 name. They continued until 1990, when the name and manufacture was passed on to Survival Arms. Survival Arms was succeeded in 1998 by two companies, AR-7 Industries, and Henry Arms. AR-7 Industries understandably maintained the familiar name and Henry, went with "US Survival .22 Semi-Auto".
